Imagine if the tag "#b4b" was one of Twitter’s top trending topics - the social network has over 1 million active users who could help the hungry billion.

 

 

So, try finishing all your tweets with this tag: #b4b.

 

If the tweet are about the hungry billion, great! But you can use this tag on any tweet to get people interested in what the #b4b tag represents.

Hungrify your Avatar:

 

The more people talking about the hungry billion the easier it is to help them - help raise awareness, and intrigue, by downloading these avatars for your social network profiles.

 

 

Easy 1-2-3 steps:

 

1: Download the zip file with avatars (the images are GIFs and very light weight)

 

2: Choose your favourite and save it somewhere memorable on your computer

 

3: Log into your social networks and edit your profiles, uploading the saved avatar

Hungrify your Twitter Profile:

 

Use your Twitter profile background image to get people tweeting - and thinking about the hungry billion!

 

 

1: Download the zip file containing your Twitter background (the images are GIFs and very light weight)

 

2: Save it somewhere memorable on your computer

 

3: Log into Twitter.com

 

4: Click on "Settings" located in the top right hand menu

 

5: Click on "Design" from the horizontal navigation and select "Change background image"

 

6: Click "Choose file" and select the path to the memorable place you saved the background image

 

7: Finally, click on "Change design color" and go wild playing around with your profile's color scheme

Hungrify your Facebook Status:

 

With over 300 million users, Facebook is a powerful tool in the fight against hunger - your status updates can raise awareness amongst your friends, and encourage them to do the same

 

 

Commit to once a day, or week or whenever, updating your status with a message for the hungry billion. Try these status updates for size:

 

"I'm one of the online billion helping the hungry billion. You can too. Go to http://www.wfp.org/1billion to find out how"

 

"If you're reading this, you're one of the online billion users who can help the 1 billion people hungry in the world. Go to http://www.wfp.org/1billion to find out how"

Create an Event:

 

Take it offline - hold an offline event, and we may stream it live online for you!

 

 

 

Choose from one of these ideas, or do something totally different:

 

Throw a hunger banquet

Guests are fed the same food and quantities that the 1 billion hungry are eating today - for example, a small bowl of rice that may be shared among numerous people. You may even consider fundraising for this event, asking each person to contribute the equivalent of a meal out in a restaurant!

Hold a music gig

Use your voice to speak about the hungry billion. It doesn't matter if you have an audience of 1 person or 1 billion, we still consider streaming it live for you.

 

To promote your gig, consider telling your friends about it on Facebook and in real life. Also ask local-based websites and shops to advertise it for you (many may be willing to do so free of charge).

 

Organise a karaoke evening

Instead of taking center stage, allow others to get up and use their voice to raise awareness for the hungry billion.

 

Create a playlist with songs that either remind you about hunger. (We'd be particularly eager to stream this event live!)

 

If you have an event planned, tell us about it! We may add it to an events calendar, and stream the event live online.
