BEIJING –The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today announced a new partnership with HNA Group – a leading China-based corporation - to fight hunger globally.

KINSHASA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO – The Howard G. Buffett Foundation has announced three new grants to the U.N. World Food Programme (WFP) worth nearly US$350,000. The funds will support a “green initiative” to reduce fuel costs associated with WFP operations and facilitate airport rehabilitation projects allowing greater humanitarian access.

A delegation from PepsiCo Quaker in the Netherlands recently travelled to Benin to visit WFP’s school feeding programme, which the company is supporting. The visit demonstrated the impact that PepsiCo Quaker’s contributions have had on primary schools in Benin.

“Don’t just burn calories, donate them!” With this message, WFP’s new partnership with Zumba Fitness raises awareness about hunger in a whole new way – by encouraging people to exercise for a cause.
