The drivers of the WFP truck fleet are always a welcome sight for the people of Badakhshan, many of whom rely on WFP food to get them through the winter. But sometimes it's the truckers that need help from the villagers, as James Feeney, head of WFP's Faizabad sub-office, explains.
"Now that I have a secure buyer, I will grow a lot more beans,” says one farmer who is benefitting from WFP's innovative Purchase for Progress (P4P) programme.
Wuditu Assefa spends much of her time travelling, talking to WFP partners and beneficiaries. She is a Field Monitor, based in Dessie in the north of Ethiopia. As she explains here, one of the things she monitors is the MERET project to reduce vulnerability to drought.
