HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Locally or nationally, at school or in your community, there are many ways you can help save millions of Africans from starvation.
Make a direct donation or simply spread the word to fellow students,
school friends or work colleagues.
Here are a few suggestions:
- Write, email or call your representatives in government

- Make an online donation to WFP
or, if you are a resident of the United States, to US
Friends of WFP.
- Hold a vigil, seminar or prayer for December the 16th to raise
awareness about hunger in Africa.
- Get a local club or social group to organise a fund-raising
event for the Africa Hunger Alert
- Understand what it is like to not have enough to eat by limiting
your school lunch to a bowl of rice. Donate what you save to the campaign.
- Sponsor a school study programme educating others about hunger
in Africa
