A native of Italy, Ms. Franca Sozzani is one the world’s most famous magazine editors and influential leaders in fashion, serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia. Sozzani is a champion for socio-economic and political change, frequently using her print and digital platforms to raise awareness among millions of readers and followers. This includes stimulating discourse on issues of race through The Vogue Black Issue and challenge society’s traditional perspectives of women’s physical appearance through The Vogue Curvy Issue. She has also created the Vogue Talent website to help identify emerging fashion designers throughout the world. As a WFP Global Ambassador Against Hunger, Ms. Sozzani plays a critical role in raising awareness and funding for WFP, particularly our school feeding and gender empowerment activities. In addition to promoting WFP on her social media channels and publishing articles in Vogue Italia about hunger and malnutrition, Ms. Sozzani has supported our C.A.R. (Central African Republic) Can’t Wait and #ADollarALifeline online and social media campaigns and organized fundraising events such as the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience in Dubai, UAE.
