Prepositioning of food stock for the rainy season (July- November 2009) is due to start in March to ensure the availability of food supply in the refugee camps before June 2009 when roads will be closed due to rain. The CO is currently speeding up the process to make sure that food flows as much as possible from both the Douala and Libya corridors.

WFP is also planning to distribute general food rations to 180,000 IDPs in eastern Chad. The 2009 IDP food assistance strategy consists of 90-day general food distributions from March to May, and 120-day seed protection rations from June to September 2009.
