Conclusion of war won’t diminish WFP role here

Despite the conclusion of the war against the LTTE last May, during which Sri Lanka had to rely heavily on the World Food Programme to feed the war displaced, the UN agency is still engaged in food relief operations.(..)Ilona Milner of the WFP, Colombo says tackling malnutrition among Sri Lankan children will remain a key priority. She asserts that with the end of the conflict, they’ll shift their attention to areas where they can make a difference and towards this objective, the UN agency will closely work with the Sri Lankan government.
