Feature: Over 7 million Afghans suffering from food insecurity

"My children want bread in this cold weather but I don't have enough food to feed them," said Siddiqa, a 35-year-old Afghan woman. (..) The latest national survey has found that about 7.4 million people in Afghanistan, 31 percent of the country's population, suffer from food insecurity, Public Information officer of WFP Challiss McDonough told Xinhua on Monday. "In 2011, our plan is to distribute food for around 7.3 million people across the country," she said.
