Food scare hits Malawi

At least one million people could face acute food shortage in Malawi between this June and march next year .The latest report by the food security monitoring initiative famine early warning system network [fewsnet] has revealed. (..) However the humanitarian response committee comprising of the country’s ministry of Agriculture, Department of Disaster preparedness, UN agencies such as World food programme [WFP] and UNICEF is expected to meet this week to plan its response.
