Guinea is a coastal west african county of some 11 million, undergoing a democratic transition. Shocks affecting the food security of Guinean households include global market shocks and political instability in neighboring countries. The bulletin is meant to strengthen WFP's preparedness level in Guinea . Market and food access indicators are monitored on a monthly basis in the capital Conakry and upcountry locations, with the Minsitry of Agriculture. The bulletin also draws on secondary sources available in Guinea. It is endorsed through the Guinea Food Security Cluster.
