Humanitarian community seeks $537m for NWFP, Fata

The humanitarian community operating in the country has appealed for $537 million to meet the needs of crisis-hit populations in the NWFP and Fata, including $24 million for the agriculture sector. (..)In addition to the above losses, according to the latest WFP Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) market assessment across NWFP, from late 2007 to August 2009, there were price increase of 104 per cent in wheat flour prices, 62 per cent in rice and 15 per cent in sugar.
