Immediate and short-term provision of rice si needed to ensure adequate caloric intake aomng targeted population and prevent the affected population from incurring additional debt, selling assets or otherwise engaging in activities that undermine their livelihoods and prospects for early recovery.  WFP immediate food assistance (742 ton of rice) will be provided as a one-off distribution and targets will be adjusted accordingly if the situation changes.
