WFP will, from May 2009, scale up the EMOP/PRRO from the current 1.2 million to 3.5 million people in 2009. Food assistance will be provided through general food distributions, food-for-assets, emergency school feeding, supplementary feeding and mother and child health care programmes.

WFP in collaboration with other stakeholders including GoK, private sector NGO’s and UN agencies last week launched the Wellness Centre programme aimed at creating awareness on HIV and AIDS as well providing HIV and AIDS related services within the transport sector.
