Locally Produced Multi-Fortified Foods: Links with Nutrition and Local Sourcing

The purpose of this study is to contribute to the understanding of how WFP, through its school feeding programmes, addresses school children nutrition needs, and if and how locally sourced programmes can provide food baskets that are affordable, nutritious, and sustainable. The specific objectives are to document how WFP is currently procuring fortified food products produced in the country for school feeding, to gain more detailed knowledge on the supply chain and nutrition content, and uncover WFP Country Offices’ experiences on good practices and constraints to scaling up.
