In 2008 Malawi reported a 3rd consecutive overall cereal production surplus of approximately 500,000 mt, largely owed to the Government’s fertiliser subsidy and good rains. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) congratulates Malawi for these recurring landmark achievements.
