Mali - Enquête Nationale sur la Sécurité Alimentaire et Nutritionnelle (ENSAN), Juin 2015

The Mali Enquête Nationale sur la Sécurité Alimentaire et Nutritionnelle (ENSAN) report is based a national survey of 8,586 households, and MUAC measurement of 15,563 children aged 6-59 months. The report found that food insecurity affects a quarter of the Malian population. This is primarily due to an early pastoral dry season, and insecurity in Gao, Timbuktu and Kidal. In the north, the insecurity has affected both market supply and household access, also resulting in an increase in prices. In addition to this, the nutrition situation has deteriorated in comparison with the last SMART survey (2014), particularly in Mopti where GAM rates of 6-59 month old children has reached 8%.
