Mindanao’s displaced gets rice from Japan

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Tuesday said it will start providing thousands of displaced people in Mindanao with rice rations from the Japanese government tomorrow, August 26.
At a ceremony scheduled in Maguindanao, Japanese Ambassador the Philippines Makoto Katsura, representatives from Philippine government, and WFP will witness the first distributions of rice purchased with the Japanese donation of P455 million (860 million Japanese yen) to assist people affected by conflict and internal displacement in Mindanao.
