Over 20 million affected due to Pakistan floods

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Wednesday that Pakistan suffered colossal damages to life and property at the hands of unprecedented floods which ravaged the whole country from north to south.He said that over 20 million people have been affected which outnumbers the combined affected people of the recent four major international disasters i.e. 2004 Tsunami, the South Asian quake of 2005, Katrina and 2010 Haiti quake. During meeting with the delegation of the World Food Programme lead by Ms. Josettee Sheeran, Executive Director, the Prime Minister appreciated prompt response of WFP which has been providing emergency support to 2.6 million flood-affected populations in Pakistan.
