Over 50pc have limited access to food: WFP

Food insecurity is still a major challenge for Pakistan because about half of its population is has a limited access to food, World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations said on Tuesday. “Food security is more than food production and is currently a great concern. Pakistan is not on track with regard to food security, as during the past decade Pakistan has suffered many shocks,” WFP deputy country director Dominique Frankefort said at a panel discussion on “Agricultural Policy and Food Security in a Decentralised Economy”.
