S. Korean FM, WFP chief discuss aid to DPRK

South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan met Thursday with Josette Sheeran, executive director of the Rome-based United Nations World Food Program (WFP), to discuss humanitarian assistance to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), local media said. The WFP chief reportedly called for South Korea's support for cooperation on the organization's programs designed to provide food to DPRK people in need. The foreign minister said non- political humanitarian aid can be provided, but not large-scale assistance, according to Yonhap News Agency.
