Students use math skills to feed others

Published on 20 April 2011

As some students at Big Hollow Elementary School work to improve their math skills, they are simultaneously working to feed hungry people around the world. The United Nations-run website www.freerice.com quizzes users on a variety of subjects, including vocabulary, science and math. When questions are answered correctly, a donation of rice is made to the UN’s World Food Programme.
