Sudanese urged to stop fighting

Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary general, has called on warring parties on the volatile border between north and south Sudan to stop fighting and allow access to aid agencies, as reports of deliberate attacks on humanitarian supply routes mount. (..) The World Food Programme, a UN agency, said on Thursday that conflict is stopping it from reaching the displaced, and has so far supplied food aid for 26,500 people in a state where it used to provide food assistance to 400,000.
