Thematic Review of WFP-supported Mother-and-Child Nutrition Interventions

For more than 40 years WFP has been providing assistance to pregnant and lactating mothers and pre-school children to meet their special nutritional and health needs. Between 1963 and 2003, 15 percent of WFP’s development expenditure was spent on mother-and-child nutrition (MCN) interventions. Currently, WFP supports MCN development interventions in 16 African, 7 Asian and 8 Latin American countries.
