UN to help reduce food crisis

UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) have said that they will be increasing their assistance to respond to the deteriorating food crisis. Both the UN agencies on Wednesday issued a joint press statement to made public their pledges. WFP has said that it plans to increase the number of people it is assisting in the most food insecure areas of Nepal from 1.5 million to 2.2 million.
