UN says long way ahead for Haiti reconstruction

One year after the Haiti earthquake, much has been achieved by United Nations agencies and its partners to reshape the devastated country, but there is still a massive amount of work ahead, the UN announced here on Tuesday at a joint press conference gathering its agencies tasked for the reconstruction. (..) Apart from housing, food is another major challenge for relief and reconstruction. The World Food Program (WFP), one of the UN agencies, said it had managed to deliver rations to some 4 million Haitians immediately after the earthquake, and now it still maintains food assistance to around 2 million people through its school meal program.
