Under siege: Unemployment in Gaza climbs to 44.8%

With May Day approaching, the unemployment in the besieged Gaza Strip has climbed to 44.8%, according to the local Chamber of Commerce. A report by Mahir At-Tabba, director of public relations at the Chamber of Commerce in Gaza City assessed that 85% of the population in the Gaza Strip are dependent on humanitarian aid offered by UNRWA, the World Food Program, and other organizations.
