- In August, WFP assisted 443,000 beneficiaries in Mali and 126,000 Malian refugees in Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Niger.
- In Mali, during the month of September, food distributions in the north were hindered by ongoing insecurity in the area, affecting access to some 18,500 beneficiaries. Despite these challenges WFP continued to provide life-saving food assistance across the country, targeting some 290,000 people in September. In addition, with the start of the school year in October, WFP plans to assist about 162,000 students through school meals
