THE World Food Programme says it plans to spend about US$16 million on a social protection programme for the vulnerable beginning this year. WFP country representative Pablo Recalde said the programme was set to take off soon and would run until 2015. “WFP Zambia will spend approximately US $16 million to implement a country programme that will provide social protection to vulnerable people. This includes home-grown school feeding, electronic food vouchers and food provision to refugees,” he said in an interview.
