WFP Assists Flood-Affected Iraqis
Following recent flooding in the al Anbar region west of Baghdad, WFP dispatched 100 metric tons of food assistance from warehouse in Erbil distributing 1,500 food packages to 9,000 people who have been worst affected by the floods. WFP's responded to the crisis within only 72 hours. WFP is now dispatching an additional 1,000 food packages to deliver to newly affected families as the devastating effects of the floods have reached other villages and areas around the Abu Ghraib district.
