WFP collaborates closely with UNHCR, the Government of Malawi Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, and the Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS). MRCS is responsible for managing food distribution activities on behalf of UNHCR and WFP. The Government is responsible for overall camp management and administration.

All refugees receive a monthly food basket consisting of cereal, pulses, vegetable oil, sugar, salt and corn‐soya blend (CSB). This food assistance plays a crucial role in meeting the basic food needs of the refugees and help prevent malnutrition. Furthermore, it facilitates the elimination of food insecurity and negative coping mechanisms.
