The results of the joint mission to monitor the agro pastoral campaign and assessment of the food and nutrition situation of households organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in July 2013 indicate that the food situation of households is assumed to be satisfactory. Grain products are available and households are able to consume their usual daily meals. The farmers’ stock level appears to be adequate for most households in the different regions. This situation is reinforced by the availability of dairy products, particularly in the Sahel region. However, disparities exist. In the Centre-West regions, North, Centre and Central Plateau, smallholder stocks are generally low. The market is the main source for poor and very poor households, as stocks are depleted.
