After an exceptional cocoa campaign in 2010-2011, farmers saw their terms of trade deteriorating every year. In September 2010, the sale of a kilogram of cocoa allowed producers in Man to buy 2.7 kg of imported rice, against 1.7 kg in 2011, and only 1.5 kg in 2012.
