This report focuses on the assessements conducted by WFP in Democratic Republic of Congo on high food prices and their impact on urban dwellers in the following cities around the country: Kinshasa, Matadi, Mbandaka, Kisangani, Goma, Bukavu, and Lubumbashi.

These reports are based on data collected by a network of border monitors based at selected border points. Borders throughout the region have been surveyed and the most active and important borders have been selected for monitoring.

This study was undertaken as part of the World Food Programme (WFP) Strengthening Emergency Needs Assessments Capacity (SENAC) project. The objective of the project is to strengthen WFP capacity to assess emergency food needs through accurate and impartial assessments in the immediate aftermath of a crisis.
