Unilever Ghana Limited unveiled the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) to the public as part of activities to mark the U.N's World Environment Day which was observed on Sunday June 5 2011. (..) Other speakers from the EPA, the NAFCO, the GJA, the World Food Program (WFP) and Water Aid Ghana all affirmed the need for prompt pragmatic action to reverse the disturbing trend of environmental degradation to sustain the future of the earth and applauded Unilever for the great initiative.

Government will soon develop a policy to govern the Home Grown School Feeding Programme and ensure its sustainability. The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) is set to launch a Post-Flood Recovery Programme on Friday May 27, 2011, at Kogle, a village in the Lawra District, to support over 6,000 families who were adversely affected by the floods of 2010. It will be recalled that, in October 2010, the Office of the Vice-President in collaboration with SADA, the affected District Assemblies, (..), the World Food Programme (WFP) and other development partners, responded to the flood situation in the North by providing emergency food and material assistance for about 25,000 persons affected by the floods.

The 26th edition of the Annual Food Crisis Prevention Network, which serves as the platform for deliberation on food production and food security in Africa has opened in Accra. (..) The three-day forum is being attended by food security actors from the two regions and representatives from development cooperation agencies such as FAO, ECOWAS, UNICEF, WFP and Oxfam.
