Groupon in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) join hands in fighting hunger and empowering girls through school meals programmes

Under new agreement with the Municipal Government of Kota Jayapura,  WFP will pilot a local school meals programme in Muara Tami, in Indonesia’s eastern Papua province covering 10 schools in Muara Tami sub-district until June 2013, where nearly 1,700 students will receive a nutritious hot snack (Bubur Tami and Bubur Bum) three times a week, made from local foods such as cassava, sweet potato and pumpkin.
