WFP Supports Displaced Families At Erbil's Baharka Camp
More than 3,000 Iraqi people, who fled violence that erupted across the country this year, are displaced inside Erbil city's Baharka camp. They live with their families inside tents, receiving daily hot meals from WFP in cooperation with its local partner Barzani Charity Foundation. This month, WFP began distributing family food parcels containing essential items such as rice and cooking oil to people inside the camp, to allow them to prepare meals of their choice. Alongside UNHCR, WFP has provided the families with stoves and will be providing them with kerosene to enable them to prepare meals out of the contents of their new food parcels.
