World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

BISHKEK – The Government of the Russian Federation has contributed US$1 million to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to support the most food-insecure Kyrgyz people

BISHKEK – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said today its monthly food price monitoring for the Kyrgyz Republic has revealed that wheat flour prices across the country have doubled between June and October.

The United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) will start distributing basic food commodities to support more than 370,000 people in rural areas who require assistance following the long, harsh winter. 

BISHKEK – The UN World Food Programme (WFP) began Wednesday providing food assistance to more than 270,000 people in rural areas across the Kyrgyz Republic to help them through the harsh winter season.

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) said Thursday it spent nearly $6 million in the Kyrgyz Republic to deliver assistance to the country’s most vulnerable people in 2010.
