World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

WFP school meals are helping hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese students stay in school and build a brighter future, and WFP is working to help the young country's Ministry of Education build and sustain a national school meals system.

Helping small farmers thrive is one of the most effective things we can do to build communities free from hunger. That’s what the ground-breaking “Purchase for Progress” project has done in 21 countries around the world. Now in the fifth and final year of its pilot phase, here’s what five farmers who took part in it have to say about the experience.

JUBA – The Government of Japan and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) have signed on 4 December a new agreement in Rome for food assistance amounting to approximately US$3.125 million (250 million Japanese Yen) to benefit the most vulnerable people in the Republic of South Sudan.
