AMMAN – On behalf of millions of Syrians affected by the protracted crisis, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has welcomed another generous contribution from the European Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO) towards its life-saving response.

AMMAN – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing food for tens of thousands of Syrians seeking refuge in Turkey and Iraq amid growing concern that the influx of new arrivals is further straining the agency’s ability to respond to more needs with dwindling stocks and donations running out.

AMMAN – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is taking action to prioritise the most vulnerable families among the half a million Syrian refugees in Jordan who receive vital assistance in the form of vouchers for food. As a consequence, some 12,000 households who have access to sufficient income or support networks to meet their own food requirements will be removed from WFP’s monthly voucher programme.

AMMAN – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is warning that it is running out of funds to provide food for almost 6 million Syrians receiving its life-saving assistance. In Syria, the size of next month’s food ration will be reduced and in neighbouring countries the number of refugees receiving food or vouchers will be cut.
