NEW YORK – While a hunger-free world is within reach, a global movement of dedicated individuals and organizations is needed to achieve it within the next 15 years, the head of the world’s largest humanitarian agency said today.
"It begins with me. How the world can end hunger in our lifetime" was the theme of the Sunday 6 September event that saw the participation of Bono, the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the Executive Director of the World Food Programme Ertharin Cousin.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director, Ertharin Cousin, met with leading government officials at the Regional South and Central Asia Consultations for the World Humanitarian Summit and visited the Shaartuz District on a four-day trip to Tajikistan the week of 22 July.
