Policy Evaluations

Evaluation of WFP policies forms a crucial part of the Office of Evaluation's strategic evaluation work and inform policy makers and policy implementers about the
  • quality of a given policy, compared to international good practice and other benchmarks,
  • results of the policy to understand whether measures are effective, and
  • factors that explain why these results occurred.
In 2007-2008, OEV evaluated three of WFP's policies, namely:
which brought out common findings, summarized in the 2008 Annual Evaluation Report. Improvements in the policy making process were made as a result.
In 2011, OEV will be evaluating WFP's school feeding policy and in 2012 it will conduct an evaluation of the revised capacity development policy.
