Three datasets are needed for the calculation of the indicators:
- INTERFAIS Data on food aid deliveries in metric tons
- Food Composition Table
- Nutritional requirements
Data on food aid deliveries in metric tons are from the database of the International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS). This database is updated on a continuing basis, and makes data available since 1988.
Detailed data from the INTERFAIS database are available through the Quantity Reporting area of FAIS. Read more.
The Food Composition Table collects nutritional data (on Energy, Fat, Protein, Iodine, Iron, Niacine, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B9, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C and Zinc) for all the commodities of the INTERFAIS database. Read more.
The food composition data sources are:
NutVal (WFP)
United States Department of Agriculture
Food Composition Database for Epidemiological Studies in Italy (BDA)
Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca per gli Alimenti e la Nutrizione (INRAN)
