How you and FreeRice are helping

The first people to benefit from FreeRice were 20,000 Myanmar refugees sheltering in Bangladesh. Since then pregnant women in Cambodia, school kids in Uganda and many more hungry people across the globe have received food thanks to the award-winning site. Find out more about where we deliver rice.

Our food baskets

Most of our rice is bought in developing countries, keeping the cost of reaching the hungry low and boosting local farmers' incomes. However, the hungry cannot live on rice alone. World Food Programme food rations include vegetable oil, beans, maize, bread, sugar and salt. See what's in a WFP food basket and the special products used to treat extreme malnutrition.
