WFP International Food Aid System (INTERFAIS)


Data on global food aid deliveries and trends are extracted from the database of the International Food Aid Information System (INTERFAIS) which was developed by WFP as a contribution to a coordinated international response to food aid shortages.

INTERFAIS is a dynamic system, which involves the interaction of all users, represented by donor governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, recipient countries and WFP field offices. All information is cross-checked before being disseminated.

Its comprehensive and integrated database allows the monitoring of food aid allocations and shipments for the purpose of improving food aid management, coordination and statistical analysis.

The database is updated on a continuing basis. Therefore, data can change as allocation plans and delivery schedules are subject to modifications. Data are available from 1988.

Most of the information disseminated by INTERFAIS is provided in answer to specific ad-hoc requests. Therefore, enquiries or requests for updated and additional information on worldwide food aid flows may be directed to:
