WFP and Arab League sign historic agreement for cooperation

Cairo - WFP and the League of Arab States today signed their first Memorandum of Understanding for future cooperation.The agreement underlines the common interests of the two organisations. In addition to exchanging information and expertise in different fields, both agencies will work together towards identifying problems and coordinating intervention relating to food insecurity and malnutrition, particularly among women and children.

All-terrain trucks arrive to move more food to rain-soaked Darfur

Port Sudan The first 25 of a total of 120 specialised all-terrain 6X6 trucks have arrived by sea in Port Sudan to help in a WFP operation to deliver food by land and air to Darfur. As the rainy season lashes across an area the size of France, the situation is becoming increasingly desperate for hundreds of thousands of people trapped in camps.
