Like many other families in this hunger-hit region of Swaziland, the Zwane's have already been forced to ration their food to make it last longer.

Eating once a day and sharing the evening meal has become common practice for the four brothers, two sisters and their parents.

Late rains followed by devastating storms have destroyed most of this region's agricultural output for 2002.

It is the third year in succession that Swaziland's agricultural regions have been badly hit by erratic weather patterns.
