World Food Programme Fighting Hunger Worldwide

We’re so happy! WFP was recently able to provide a small token of support to one of our favorite NGOs in Afghanistan. Skateistan is an organisation that offers skateboarding lessons and educational programmes to Afghan children.

WFP sent along 80 boxes of our locally-produced “high-energy biscuits” for the kids at the Skateistan centre in Kabul to try.

These cookies are fortified with vitamins and minerals and are usually distributed through WFP’s school meals programmes, in order to give students the energy to play and learn.

The only problem is that we think the name “high-energy biscuits” is pretty lame – so the kids at Skateistan were helping us decide on a new name for the cookies. Mohammad Hatif Aber (right), from the WFP Afghanistan team that produces the HEBs, consults with girls at Skateistan about what the biscuits should be called.
