Provision of Humanitarian Air Services in Sudan

This Special Operation (SO) caters for the provision of a safe, reliable and cost efficient air transport service to the humanitarian community in Sudan in 2012.   From 1 January 2010 until 31 December 2011 the project has been implemented through

the Special Operation (SO) 200073. In light of the separation of North and South Sudan, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) Steering Committee requested to split the existing UNHAS mission, which has been serving a unified Sudan, and to establish a separate mission for the Republic of South Sudan (ROSS).Since September 2011 the South Sudan operation split from the North and have been implemented through SO 200341.
