Food Assistance for Vulnerable Populations Affected by Conflict and Natural Disasters (SUDAN)

This emergency operation for Sudan “Food Assistance to Vulnerable Populations Affected by Conflict and Natural Disasters” responds to the continuing complex humanitarian and food security situation, characterised by localised conflicts, protracted displacement and a deteriorating economy. Unresolved issues in the Comprehensive Peace Agreementhave exacerbated economic instability and border conflicts and have led to ongoing internal and external displacement that has affected the livelihoods of millions of people in the affected areas. The loss of 75 percent of oil revenues following the separation of the Republic of South Sudan has reduced the Government’s ability to continue the previous levels of expenditure on essential basic services.
