The crisis in Darfur has taken a heavy toll on the local environment. WFP is helping families tackle this problem by providing them with food in exchange for learning about sustainable farming and market-gardening practice. WFP is also helping them learn how to make fuel-efficient cook-stoves, which consume substantially less fuel than an open fire
